Well funded education

Our children deserve every opportunity at an exceptional education, to set them up for success in the future. I applaud the effort of those who passed free lunches for all, because no child should ever be denied a meal, regardless of their social status. I am committed to equitable access to education, ensuring funding from early childhood to higher education. While fighting to get the best pay for our educators, and administrative support, there needs to be a continued focus on smaller class sizes and support for school programs.

Healthcare

Quality healthcare is a fundamental human right, not a privilege. When we routinely hear about people having to choose whether to pay for their medicine or their food, or people choosing not to get medical help because of the fear of immense debt, something needs to change. I pledge to support any legislation that help to eliminate cost barriers, and will push for more accessibility to mental health services. By addressing these issues, we will create a more just and sustainable community.

Investing in our Community and Keep it Safe

In order to keep this community safe, we need to continue to work with our local law enforcement, and advocate for community policing initiatives that will help to build more trust and collaboration between everyone. It is critical that we invest in our local infrastructure, keeping good paying jobs local, and help our small businesses to prosper. Strong, empowered workers are the backbone of our economy. I will always support workers’ rights, help advocate for fair wages, better working conditions, and the right to organize and collectively bargain.

Affordable Housing

Every person deserves to have a roof over their head. One of the biggest concerns of millennials and gen-z is that home ownership is no longer a reality, and the cost of rent continues to rise. Across Eagan, the average cost of rent is more than $1,600 a month, which is more than many mortgages. I will prioritize policies that ensure access to affordable housing at all income levels, combatting homelessness, and promoting responsible urban development so we can preserve the character of this great community.

Transparency in government

There is more concern than ever that the government does not represent the people, and the issues that the general public want action on goes unheard. I am dedicated to fostering a government that is transparent, collaborative, and accountable to the people. I firmly believe that those entrusted with public office must be held to a higher standard of integrity and ethics. Transparency is crucial for building trust, and I pledge to promote openness with all constituents. This means making information accessible, engage in regular meaningful dialogue, and involving the people of this community in that decision making process. I will make myself available to everyone in the community to discuss policy, or what you would like to see me fighting for. Our democracy thrives when the voices of the citizens are heard and respected.

Environmental Protection

With much of the world on fire, and record breaking summers becoming the norm, I recognize the urgent need to address climate change and protect our natural resources. I will support clean energy initiatives, work to protect our water and air quality, and leave this world better for our children than we found it.

Civil Rights Protections

As a child of interracial marriage, I will always fight for the principles of equality and civil rights. My belief has always been that every individual, regardless of their background, deserves the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. Strengthening civil rights protections, helps us build a more inclusive community that benefits us all. I am dedicated to fighting and dismantling systemic racism, and addressing social inequalities.
